About ASC

Six Years.One Mission.

2021 — 2026

The Adewale Students Conference began in 2021 with a single conviction: that the brightest minds in Ogun State deserved more than a classroom ceiling. Five editions later, we have become the state's most consistent youth innovation platform — reaching over 5,000 students, distributing ₦25 million in scholarship support, and hosting a grand finale that brings together 1,000 students, teachers, and community leaders.

In 2026, we enter a new chapter. ASC is transitioning from a passion-driven initiative into a formally institutionalised programme under the Ogun Economic & Innovation Council — building the governance, partnerships, and systems that will carry this work forward for the next decade.

What We Do

Four Pillars.One Platform.

ASC is not a single event — it is a structured annual journey that takes students from their classrooms in Ogun State all the way to a national-standard innovation stage.

01

The Adewale STEM Contest

An inter-school science and technology competition open to SS2 students across Ogun State. Schools compete through qualifying zones before the top teams advance to the Grand Finale. Past topics have ranged from renewable energy to agricultural technology — challenging students to apply curriculum knowledge to real-world problems.

02

Innovation Pitch Stage

Student teams identify a problem in their community and pitch a solution — in front of a live panel of judges drawn from business, technology, and public service. This is where future entrepreneurs are born. Winners receive scholarship support and mentorship connections. The pitches get sharper every year.

03

Keynote & Panel Sessions

Nigeria's leading voices on education, innovation, and youth development address the conference. Past panels have brought together technologists, educators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers. For many students in Remo, this is their first direct encounter with people who look like them and have built extraordinary things.

04

The Grand Finale

A landmark convergence held in October. 300 selected students and teachers gather for the main event, joined by 700 additional participants on the final day. This is where Ogun State's student community experiences what ambition feels like — together, at scale, on a proper stage.

05

Scholarship Awards

Over ₦25 million has been distributed in scholarship support across five editions. Winners are selected on merit, with special consideration for students from underserved communities within the Remo axis. Every scholarship is a commitment — not just a cheque.

06

Year 6: The Institution

In 2026, ASC takes its most significant step — transitioning from a founder-led initiative into a formally governed programme under the Ogun Economic & Innovation Council. This edition marks the beginning of a structure that will outlast any individual and serve Ogun State students for the decade ahead.

The Founder

Built FromConviction.

“I started this because I knew what it felt like to be the brightest person in the room with no room to grow. ASC is the room I wish I’d had.”

Michael Adewale Adesanya is a politician, educator, and innovation advocate from Remo, Ogun State. With roots across Sagamu, Ikenne, and Remo North, he has spent the last decade building at the intersection of technology, education, and community development.

Michael brings four years of Silicon Valley experience, including connections forged at Stanford University and Y Combinator, back to Ogun State — channelling that exposure into programmes and institutions that serve young people at the grassroots. He serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in Engineering Entrepreneurship at the University of Lagos.

ASC is his most personal project — a programme he has funded, run, and shown up for every year for five consecutive years. In 2026, he is taking the hardest step any founder can take: building the structure that makes it bigger than him.
